Popular online presence for influential magazine

The New York Review of Books was started in 1963 as an independent magazine for in-depth discussion of politics and culture. Over the past five decades it has become an influential and widely acclaimed publication, with a print edition read by over 135,000 subscribers. The Review has also developed a popular online presence, with hundreds of thousands of social media followers and a website visited by 10 million readers each year.

Capturing new audiences

Matthew Howard, the Review's digital director since 1999, will talk about how the magazine has adapted itself to the challenges and opportunities of new media, extending its reach to new audiences around the world while remaining committed to its founding intellectual values and mission.

Arranged in cooperation with the VELUX project "The Past's Future: Digital Transformations and Cultural Heritage Institutions" headed by Helle Porsdam, Saxo Institute, and funded by the PhD School at the Faculty of Humanities.

Afterwards a reception will be held at the Saxo Institute in room 12.3.39 (KUA2).
