From the German to the European Question. Reflections on a Century Issue

Meet renowned German historian Heinrich August Winkler and editor-in-chief at Politiken Bo Lidegaard.

25 years have passed since the German unification and in light of European integration, the economic and financial crisis and the conflict in Ukraine it is time to reflect as well as to look ahead.

German historian Heinrich August Winkler has written extensively on German and Western history and has been a central figure in the German historical debate for decades. At the same time he has maintained close ties to central decision makers in German politics and is a member of the SPD. Heinrich August Winkler will give a speech reflecting on the Century Issue: From the German to The European Question.

Thereafter Heinrich August Winkler will engage in a dialogue together with Bo Lidegaard, editor-in-chief at Politiken as well as the audience.

The meeting will be moderated by prorector at the University of Copenhagen and chairman of the Danish Foreign Policy Society, Lykke Friis.
