Fighting Food Waste - KU Workshop

Food waste

In Denmark, around 870.000 tons of food is wasted every year. Danish households account for 235.000 tons of this waste. Successfully combating food waste as a complex societal problem requires the collaboration of scholars and scientists from multiple disciplines, including scholars in the humanities, social scientists, environmental scientists, agricultural scientists, food scientists, economists as well as legal, policy and governance experts. This workshop aims to bring together researchers at KU who are already working with or have ideas for future projects related to food waste. The idea is to establish a network of researchers and scholars at KU interested in food waste and to develop a platform for collaboration in the years to come.

When registering, participants are requested to submit an abstract of maximum 1200 characters describing ongoing work related to food waste or an idea for potential research within the area. Before the workshop, we will assign all participants to groups based on the submitted abstracts. Group members will read each other’s abstracts in advance and be asked to prepare questions and comments for each other.
