How to Decide What to Where: Getting Started in GeoAnnotation with Recogito

Lecture by Dr. Leif Isaksen, Senior Lecturer in Spatial History, Lancaster University.

GeoAnnotation is the linking of place references in texts, images and other sources to a global gazetteer in order to derive a range of benefits, including mapping, comparison, analysis and retrieval. This workshop will present the ideas and principles behind geoAnnotation, as developed by the Pelagios Commons initiative, and introduce Recogito, a tool which allows humanities scholars of all backgrounds to annotate their own resources.

Please note, that only a limited number of seats is available. Registration is therefore mandatory. Please sign up with Eva Andersson Strand.

The workshop is presented in a collaboration between Archaeology at SAXO-Institute, University of Copenhagen and HUMlab, Faculty Library of Humanities, University of Copenhagen.
