Death and Afterlife

The second student organized conference, The Egyptological Conference in Copenhagen, will be held at the University of Copenhagen on May 10-12, 2016.

The aim of this conference is to present and discuss recent developments and research in Egyptology concerning the subject of Death and Afterlife in Ancient Egypt.

We hereby invite and encourage all interested in the studies of ancient Egypt to register as guests. The deadline for registering as a guest is the 20th of April 2016.

We have the pleasure of announcing that our international key note speaker is Professor Rosalie David (OBE, BA, PhD, FRSA) of Manchester University. Professor David is an expert in biomedical research in Egyptology.

Furthermore, Egyptologist and Museum Inspector Tine Bagh will present, and the renowned Egyptologists Prof. Kim Ryholt and Ass. Prof. Fredrik Hagen will participate, too. Also Ass. Prof. Rachel Dann, author of The Archaeology of Late Antique Sudan: Aesthetics and Identity in the Royal X-Group Tombs at Qustul and Ballana, will participate.
