Student life

South Campus offer several cosy meeting places for students. Students at the faculty use the cafés during breaks to meet up with fellow students or even lecturers. In the evenings the faculty is often used for cultural events and bar nights.

If you want to experience Danish student-life, the "Fredagsbar" (Friday bar) is a must. They take place at the departments or faculties at the university on Friday afternoons. Note that some have "Torsdags-bar" (Thursday afternoon bars) instead.

Hava Java
This café offers coffee, hot chocolate, cold beverages, light lunches and a variety of confectionery. The café stocks various board games and has its own table football.

Departmental cafés
Each department at the Faculty of Humanities has a student café, run by student volunteers from the department. The cafés offer a cosy environment where you can meet fellow students, read newspapers, play board games and buy cheap coffee and snacks. Student groups arrange study circles with guest authors, artists and intellectuals and discussions of relevant academic subjects. Furthermore the student cafés arrange Friday bar nights often with different themes.

BARstionen
BARstionen is the student Café at the Department of Cross-Cultural and Regional Studies. It is located in building 10, 10.3.68. BARstionen hosts Friday bar every Friday and two big parties every semester. The bar sells cheap beer and drinks and brings a good atmosphere to ToRS.

BARstionen is run by the board which is elected every semester at the general assembly. You are welcome to participate and learn more if you are interested in being part of the board, but you can also be part of the bar by taking a bar shift one in a while. The work is voluntary and unpaid, but it is a great way to meet other students and create a new network.
