Humanities International Social Events
Introducing HISE (Humanities International Social Events) is all about building a global community for international students at the Faculty of Humanities. With the active involvement of our international student coordinator, Ida, we create a friendly vibe that connects students before and during their semester(s)!
To achieve this, HISE focuses on early communication, recurring events, and exciting activities. Especially at the start of each semester, where the Orientation Programme encompasses a mix of social bonding activities and captivating presentations led by the Faculty of Humanities employees.
WhatsApp is our pivotal communication tool for international students. Within these groups, students can interact with both us (during working hours) and their peers. The platform facilitates event updates, reminders, and information sharing, and even enables collaborative activity planning.
Our monthly event calendar keeps you in the loop, covering everything from big gatherings like Music Bingo to casual walk-n-talks. HISE ensures there's something for everyone.
Here's the exciting part – you're not just attending events; you're shaping them! With your input, we tailor our offerings to your liking. Through HISE, you're part of a warm, dynamic community, making your university days memorable.
WhatsApp – Code of Conduct
The WhatsApp social event chat:
This WhatsApp group chat is for international students at UCPH and is intended for social initiatives only. Its purpose is to create a social community and a relaxed forum for the students, where they can reach out, interact and bond with each other, as well as a way for the student coordinator to interact with the students in this relaxed setting. This is to ensure that the students have better knowledge of what is going on socially at the university/in the city, have the chance to create a bigger social network, a community and thus a better exchange. Therefore, it is to ensure that we as an administrative department have a closer relationship with the students and thus can influence their exchange positively.
In the group there will be posted social initiatives made by either HISE and/or the international students themselves, but the content in the chat must be relevant for the students and according to the groups’ purpose. Therefore, the chat is open for everyone, but non-related topics and/or promotions (meaning everything that doesn’t involve something social that the students can do together) will be deleted by the student coordinator. Questions regarding anything study-related must be directed to visitingstudents@hum.ku.dk.

You are very welcome to invite each other to social things in the chat, but we encourage you to leave the practical planning of it in private chats for those involved to avoid spamming the chat

The WhatsApp flea market:
Purpose:
This group is for everything practical that is not socially related. This means, that this group is the place to sell/buy furniture, bikes, books, look for new roommates, ask for recommendations regarding housing, shopping/grocery shopping etc.
Disclosure: UCPH can in no way be held responsible for the things that are purchased in the group – UCPH do not offer the user any guarantees or insurance in connection with their purchase of a product posted in the group. It is the students' own responsibility that what they buy works.
Dispute resolution procedures:
The Faculty of Humanities is not a party to any transactions or disputes between buyers and third-party sellers. In the event of a dispute, the buyer must contact the seller to attempt to resolve the dispute.
The group is not monitored, but you can write to visitingstudents@hum.ku.dk if you experience any form of cheating or suspicious/inappropriate behavior.
The Faculty of Humanities can only block users that show any suspicious behavior, but we cannot take any legal action. Therefore, we recommend contacting the police in case of fraud.
